Hollis Thompson gets MVP of the Week award for West Asia Super League

Experienced American Hollis Thompson (203-SF-1991) had a great game in the last round for Al Ahli Jeddah and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 32-year old had the game-high 29 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Al Ahli in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Al-Muharraq (#2, 3-2) with 30-point margin 95-65. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Al Ahli maintains the 4th position in West Asia Super League . Al Ahli is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. In the team's last game Thompson had a remarkable 84.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Ahli's top player in his first season with the team. Hollis Thompson averages just after three games 22.0ppg and 6.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-PG-1987) of second-ranked Sagesse - Al Hekmeh Beirut. The third best performed player last round was American Tyler Wilkerson (203-F-1988) of second-ranked Al-Muharraq. Wilkerson scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Wilkerson's great performance the Al-Muharraq lost 65-95 to #4 ranked Al Ahli. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Al-Muharraq needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 3 victories and 2 lost games. Wilkerson has a great season in West Asia Super League. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.0ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 11.8rpg (3rd best).
